Not really. You can be sentenced to life in prison here for writing 1 hot check.

But you can shoot the people that come to arrest you.

Yes....I'm sure that would work in your favour.

Re: Run , hide , tell in case of terror attack in England

No problem Red Oak, everyone is entitled to their opinions. :) I would never try to convince anyone here that our way is best.....just as anyone here could not persuade me that your way is. I am convinced though that if our law re gun ownership was the same as yours, we would have a hell of a lot mo...

Re: Run , hide , tell in case of terror attack in England

This is interesting. It mentions the case Ralph mentioned and also answers Red Oak.

Re: Run , hide , tell in case of terror attack in England

Without doubt we have a different mindset re guns. I prefer our way. We are allowed to defend ourselves, there is usually a public outcry if someone is charged with assault when they have been defending their home or their family. Sitting in wait for someone, or shooting them in the back, running af...

Re: Run , hide , tell in case of terror attack in England

We can defend ourselves, just not use 'unnecessary force'...and that's open to interpretation.

Re: Run , hide , tell in case of terror attack in England

It's probably my comp Ralph, but I cant see the vid. Yes I am English, the newspapers here are good, always best to read more than one though because they all have their own agendas. Odd that you single out the Mail, it's sneered at by many as either being too lightweight or for being too controvers...

Re: Run , hide , tell in case of terror attack in England

Odd that the only place I have seen anything like this is on an American forum. ;)

I should think given the choice any innocent bystanders reaction would be to run, hide, tell.......I don't need a video to tell me that.

Re: Sliced Bread

The only time I attempted to bake my own bread was years ago when there was a bread shortage here due to the workers striking.

It smelled divine, looked so-so....and gave us all stomach ache. :?

Re: Christmas trees...real or fake?

Some lovely replies here thank you, and the picture of the hibiscus with the baubles on looks beautiful, and artistic too. I mentioned before that we put ours up on the 15th....I do the inside of the house my OH lights up a huge tree outside, he risks life and limb every year to reach the top...the ...

Re: Christmas trees...real or fake?

Christmas trees can hold many memories, some lovely one but also some painful ones. When my own mum was ill we couldn't be bothered with dressing a real tree, or even an imitation one, so we got the one we still have, a pre lit tree which takes little time to assemble. When my grandson was small, ev...

Re: Christmas trees...real or fake?

In my single days, I would cut down what we Texans call a Cedar Tree, it is actually a Red Juniper. That lasted one Christmas after Mrs. Red Oak and I were married, she wanted no part of a nasty stickerey damn cedar tree. Out at the Owl Hoot I made a Tumble Weed Christmas tree decorated with spray ...

Re: Christmas trees...real or fake?

We have a fake tree. We used to go a tree farm a cut our own tree but it's just easier to use an artificial tree especially if you want to have it up for a few weeks. The real trees dry out too fast for that plus they are messy. There is some solution that you can spray on to keep the needles from ...

Re: Christmas trees...real or fake?

Canny shopper. :D I read a statistic that in the UK more people opting for a first time fake tree choose silver before any other colour. I have also noticed here that people put their trees up earlier and earlier. Ours goes up on the 15th...(sons birthday) that's what we always did when he was small...
