Re: John Boehner Will Resign From Congress
Well, Mark, you just weren't very clear...and it seemed a reasonable reading (even if I did know that wasn't what you meant). On the other hand, Cruz is THE darling of the House Conservative extremists. They have consistently rallied to Cruz's banner in opposition to their own elected leadership. Go...

What an idiot.
Actually, I think Cruz is just a buffoon. However, idiot will work. You are smarter than I thought.

Re: Hungarian Bishop disagrees with POPE
Let me see, the Bishop is several pay grades junior to the Pope. This is like a light bird correcting a General of the Army (5 stars) sort of. I think what we have here is a Bishop putting nationalistic concerns above his duty to the Church. In cases like this, the Pope is, by definition, correct. I...

Re: The Pope and politics
I get really tired of people thinking all Baptists are Southern Baptists...............but what ya gonna do? People are entitled to think whatever they wish whether or not it's correct or right or even intelligent. I'm guilty as charged...it is an almost immediate assumption especially if you were ...

Yep, 4 each morning and three each night; also 2 as needed. Been doing that ever since the CABGx3 in '99. Don't really think about it much now. You know, this is a topic that has been addressed in several post-apocalyptic or alternate history stories. Most notable S M Stiriling's "Dies the Fir...

Brach's Chocolate Stars, hand's down. Nestle's Milk Chocolate Bar (red wrapper) is a close second. 5th Avenue gets an honorable mention for being a superior version of the Butterfinger (never chewy inside...ever). Anyone here like to eat the Baker's German Sweet Chocolate (meant for baking) as a can...

Re: Daily Medication
I take 4 in the morning and 5 in the evening. But, I will be able to stop when I'm dead. By the way tomorrow is the annual prescription drug take back day. You can drop off any you don't need anymore to be disposed of instead of throwing them away. http://www.awarerx.org/get-informed/find-disposal-...

But this thing of insulting large groups is out of line. .................Why smear a bunch of people of good faith just to get at me by inclusion. Oh come now. That's exactly what you've been doing here with all of your "You people" statements. Not really. First, this isn't a large diver...

Re: The Pope and politics
Sue, most Catholics in the U.S. are Catholics because that is how they were baptized and raised. I didn't choose anything, although as an adult I could certainly choose to leave. That's pretty much my understanding too, Greg. I think many people were raised in X faith, don't practice it, but identi...

"Pope Francis is wrong in appealing for aid to sea of refugees; this is actually a Muslim invasion of Europe, says Hungarian bishop" ..borrowed from a link posted by Ralph. Let me see, a Pope is several pay grades senior to a Bishop, right? This is like a Lt Col correcting 5 star General....

Figures CD is a convert to Catholocism..converts all seem to be goofy. I'm not a convert. I was nothing before I was Catholic. I had never been baptized into any other church. Yes, I was raised by Baptists but I was never a member of that church. Let me see, if I recall, the term for my status was ...

Re: John Boehner Will Resign From Congress
Sounds like it's all about the ever expanding Conservatives as compared to "moderate" Republicans. Boehner and McConnell can't stomach government shutdowns..or even talking about them. Government shutdowns are a form of bullying. It is right off the kindergarten play ground. It isn't gove...

Re: John Boehner Will Resign From Congress
I hear he's quite a religious Catholic. Perhaps his conscience got to him. Buncha crooks in Washington just became too much to bear. Maybe he just got tired of struggling with Cruz for control of the House. Seriously, he has tried to lead the House according to his party's policies but has been thw...

In Certified D!ckheads case, F off is a generic response that fits whatever crap he spews, IMO. And it is so thoughtful of you to think of me. I enjoy the thought that I have brought a bit of light into your World. Feel free to hate and denigrate me to your little hearts content. Again, have a grea...

F off Troll. Very funny..our resident far lefty suddenly finds religion as a Catholic when we get a complete kookburger for a Pope. No, I've been Catholic for about 35 years. My kids were all raised Catholic. I have served as a Eucharistic Lay Minister. I was raised Baptist but it didn't take. Thos...

Re: The Pope and politics
Life is so much easier for we Baptists. No one but God can tell us what to believe or how to practice our beliefs. Deifying a human being has always been mystifying to my thinking. Well, that is fine for you Baptists. But, you are dictated to by the Church hierarchy just in a different way. My rema...

I AM Catholic, and this pope is driving me crazy with his politics. Stick to faith and morals, Holy Father! Ditto, and ditto! So that would make both of you kiddos SECULAR Catholics that just believe the Pope is another elected official? You attend Mass? You recite the Creed? You take communion? Yo...

I don't much care for religion being preached from the floor of the Lege or injected into our legislation, either. It cuts both ways.
