Re: Damn crickets!

Crickets couldn't do that in one night.

Re: Lester Holt

I would agree. Seems that "they" can't decide on the role of the moderator. Should moderator fact check? Should he call out a candidate on saying something the world knows is not true? Should moderator stop the candidate who keeps butting in on the other person's time to speak (I think yes...

Rain!

Drove from north Dallas to Denton around 11 this morning. HUGE downpour! I was at 40 mph for much of the drive. With the construction, the water was flowing into the highway, not away. Saw 3 wrecks in the coming/going. On our return trip, part of the service road was underwater and traffic blocked f...

Well stated Ann and Grouchy.

IMO, even more important when step children are involved.

Re: More prayer for BIL

He passed away at 6 this morning.
Mercifully fast after the ventilator was removed. His children were able to say good-bye.

We are all still stunned at what has happened.

Re: Are you over age 21 (my soapbox rant for tonight)

As you can guess, my sister and her husband never have discussed this. I am shocked to learn that. ....just shocked. Now, she is left to decide what to do. I guess because we are planners by nature, we have discussed. Having 2 good friends die under bad circumstances made us discuss it again, so we ...

Are you over age 21 (my soapbox rant for tonight)

If you are over age 21, have you discussed or written down your wishes for DNR, end of life issues? Does someone in your circle of loved ones know if you want to "pull the plug" if needed, or if you want to be kept alive no matter what the outcome...or any point in between? If not, I urge ...

Re: More prayer for BIL

Thank you for your continued prayers. Afib has stopped. He has clots around...and they cannot give blood thinner at this time. I am convinced that the cardiologist he was seeing in Denton is incompetent. The man is 62 years old, has high cholesterol and HBP, but the doctor has never given him a stre...

Re: More prayer for BIL

Thank you.

Situation is grim. Dr. told us that next 3 days will tell the tale....and that it was such that he wanted my sister and the children to decide what they will do if the team says, 'no more." :(
He/dr. said it was not that dire yet, but could be and he wanted her prepared.

Thanks for sharing the info and soliciting prayers.

They have put him on a ventilator and evaluating what can be done regarding the stroke. He is in Plaza Medical in FW, where they are supposed to be top stroke care.
I am very worried (duh).

More prayer for BIL

Turn for worse in night.
Stroke. He can not speak, no vision in one eye...
They are doing brain scans to see what can be done.

Grouchy, will post on Kevin's board?
I don't do FB on phone.

Re: Prayer for BIL, please

Thank you for your prayers/thoughts. I think he really had divine intervention on this .... His wife was on a business trip and she is very lucky not to have come home to a dead husband. He had 100% blockage in the artery that feeds the heart, right near where it branches out. He passed out at schoo...
