I just set the DVR to record all 7 episodes of the John Adams miniseries on HBO. Looks good. It's fun to binge watch.

Re: Poison Ivy
Thanks for the tip! We used to use a product called "Ivy Block" applied to prevent a reaction in case of exposure, but it's not available any more. Store brand Claritin is loratadine and 6 pills a day far exceeds the 1 tablet a day dosage. Any chance it's being confused with diphenhydramin...

Re: A thought about the invasion from the south
I have some sympathy for Children, so hence Humane treatment of them. The adults should be back by any means possible. Truly.Who could take even one four year old by the hand and just dump her on a streetcorner in Tijuana? They know what they're doing sending us children. These are people who live ...

We don't know that the parents of these children willingly sent them. Some may have been forcibly taken.

A good definition is "rich" is having your money work for you, as opposed to you having to work for your money.

Re: What words would attract people to this board?
I don't get the preoccupation with guests. They are adults (presumably). If they want to join they will join. I think sometimes it's just us. I don't log in when I'm using my Kindle because it's too hard to post on it. It autocorrects and it's hard to type on, but I will look at what's already post...

Re: Do you ever change your style?
Only a little. Updating my eyeglass frames has been the biggest change. When I started getting wrinkles, I laid off the sparkly eye shadow. I've worn my hair long all my life because my husband likes it, sometimes straight; sometimes curled, depending on the trends. Sometimes I have bangs (fringe) w...

Re: Official 24 - Day 9 thread
Was Heller really killed or did Chloe delay the signal long enough for them to get him out of there. Who didn't know that evil son would take command of the drones and still proceed to targets? (given away in previews for next week) I'm liking the CIA chick, she should have been cast in Blacklist. ...

Re: Official 24 - Day 9 thread
I just love that Chloe uses an Alienware laptop. "Silicon Valley" really got on my nerves its first season because all the computer geeks used Apple products. Maybe they were going for the laughs, there, but I suspect it was more about product placement. Chief of Staff actor is really good...

Re: Pit Bulls
You really should respect any dog you can't kick across the room. I love dogs, especially big dogs. But you have to respect all that power attached to a small brain. Pit bulls have a lot of crushing power in their jaws. What is it, like 400 lbs./sq. inch? That, and not their reputation, makes them ...

They got up to 89 cents each at our Albertsons. I found I could make one go a very long way.

I really surprised myself getting 8 out of 10 because I guessed after eliminating some. I missed Treasure Island (never read it) and 20,000 Leagues.
That was very hard, but interesting!

Re: Homemade salsa recipe
I have a few salsa tips. If your tomatoes are pale and cotton-y, you can fortify them with a little tomato paste or a forcefully drained 28 oz. can of plum tomatoes. I open the can, remove the top, poke the tomatoes with a skinny knife, put the lid back on and press it hard to pour off the juice. Yo...
