Re: The Pope: “a poor church for the poor”

Jorge Bergoglio (Pope Francis), has long been suspected of being a Liberation Theology sympathizer, even before he was pope.
Liberation Theology is a fancy term for a Latin American Catholic Marxist. I think he is just showing his true colors.

Re: The Pope and politics

I'd also like scripture supporting this post: Fourth, Jesus was very political (he attacked the 'king,' the elites, the wealthy; he lifted up the poor and suffering). His very life was political. (In my and many other's opinions). Show me a passage when Jesus talked politics of any kind. Had Jesus w...

I'm not sure the Big Bang contradicts the Bible.
It says that God created the heavens and the Earth.
That could have been the Big Bang.

Re: The Pope and politics

I get really tired of people thinking all Baptists are Southern Baptists...............but what ya gonna do? People are entitled to think whatever they wish whether or not it's correct or right or even intelligent. I didn't know people thought that. There are Northern Baptists, Southern Baptists, I...

We had a set when I was a kid. We had to buy a yearbook to keep the info up to date.
They were fairly expensive.

The woman did what we were told to do 2000 years ago: Luke 6:27-29 27"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29"Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes awa...

True.
It wasn't too many years ago that any kind of research required a trip to a good city library.
Even at that, the information was dated.

at the worst he was correct in what he said . I'll wait to see what else he has to say . I still don't know what you mean by his being correct. Correct in what? Carson was all over the place. He said something to satisfy everybody. For a Muslim, freedom of worship means Sharia law, amputating feet ...

The Pope and politics

I'm not a Catholic but I've always respected the Catholic Church. The present pope typifies my big hang-up with the Church. Jesus came to save souls. He was not interested in politics or economics. The Pharisees tried to trap Him into discussing politics and Jesus refused. The Catholic Church should...
