Re: Call me pin cushion

When my youngest was a couple of months old we took him to Mesquite Community. They did a spinal tap and he was diagnosed with spinal meningitis. Several nurses in the ER tried to get an IV in him, then they called up to the maternity ward and brought down a nurse who was also unsuccessful. They had...

Re: Roadside vendors

Actually, I was hoping people would start answering my original question... A few months back me and my son stopped at a gas station in Sulphur Springs where a guy had setup shop. I bought a cool looking Texas themed rug and my son bought his girlfriend (at the time) a UT throw blanket. He also sol...

Re: Roadside vendors

There was a woman selling TOILET PAPER out of the back of her truck at a gas station near my house. Can't believe it has come to that. Anyway what items would you actually buy from a roadside vendor now and years ago? The selection has definitely changed since I was a kid. We used to could buy seaf...

Re: Energy Drinks

I had taken some of those "No Doze" back in my teens when I was working late and they made me jittery and grouchy so I was apprehensive about trying any of the newer energy drinks. Couple of years ago I was getting a little drowsy while driving through Tennessee and decided to try one of t...

Re: A thought about the invasion from the south

I say take some Navy Ships out of Mothball load them up with these invaders and park them off the coast of their respective Countries and send the bill to the Countries of Origin or just deduct it from aid to that Country and/or Tax Remiitances to said Countries. Why worry about where they ultimate...

Not offended, was mostly joking so lighten up. Does seem a little "stalkerish" though.

I learned a neighbor is in her 90s and I would have never dreamed she was that old.

That's mildly disturbing LL. :o

Someone (can't remember who) on the old board mentioned that the Von Erichs were basically no good brats as children. Anything stick out about Kevin when he was in your class?

Re: When was your last interaction with police?

Never been arrested..but the few experiences I've had with cops gave not been good. The problem with cops, especially in safe neighborhoods..is that they end up spending all of their time hassling basically good people that don't deserve to be hassled..over trivial things that are not worth having ...

Re: When was your last interaction with police?

The only reason I was involved with this is because she was a code violation officer and charged my neighbor with his property being infested with large rats, I had to go to court to testify that the large rats were rabbits. 06:17 PM CDT on Monday, June 23, 2008 By DONNA FIELDER / Denton Record-Chr...

Re: When was your last interaction with police?

Similar to Red Oaks, but less involved. The F150 I had before I got this new one would burn through brake or tail light bulbs every 6 months or so on the left side. Six months or so ago a Garland officer pulled up beside me, motioned for me to roll my window down, and informed me very nicely that it...

Re: Did you watch pro wrestling as a youngster?

Yes, it was a staple in our household. :D Early 1950s we had no TV, but my aunt/uncle did. Every Friday night we went to their home and watched on a tiny TV. Later, when we had a TV, we watched every Friday night (Houston market). Some of the names I remember: Gorgeous George, ---Danny It was very ...

Re: Did you watch pro wrestling as a youngster?

Sure - on TV back in the 60s from the North Side Coliseum and the Sportorium. Up until the mid 80's I guess. Watched the WCCW bunch from Dallas and when most of those guys moved to Atlanta on WTBS I switched to. Lost interest when the WWF bunch took over. Probably about the mid 80's here too. I tun...
