Re: Toll-jacked on the Chisholm Trail

I have a toll tag. I drive 161 north to I 30 weekly to get to my Mom's house. It cuts at LEAST 10 minutes from my commute which is precious time in the early morning for me. I drive it to 114 to get to Little Longhorn's apartment when I need to...I don't even know how many minutes it cuts from my co...

What day of the week, BoB?

I could have sworn all these years that it was in the middle of the night.

My memory must be faulty.

Re: Credit score

a few years ago...hubby wanted to buy a car and since I have not "worked" in many years I thought I needed to beef up my credit score and history. So..."I" bought him the car...the loan was in my name. Yes, they used hubby's history too but we both seem to have a very high credit...

My hubby likes a rub seasoning on his steak....called Grub Rub...I buy it at Kroger.

It has brown sugar or something in it that caramelizes on the grill.

All funds not needed for general household expenses goes into the retirement account....we are still making up for paying for college degrees. We are playing catch up on home repairs/updating, also. Years ago, I inherited $10,000 from my great-aunt when she passed away. It was a good year for our bu...

Wasn't it broadcast late at night here in Dallas? Seems like I was allowed to stay up really late to watch it at my Grandmother's house.

Or maybe that was something else.

But I didn't see it at school...it was at my Grandmother's house.

Re: Homemade jam or jelly

I don't think I've ever been given a jar of homemade jelly or jam. But I certainly would return the jar if the giver wanted it. I do have a friend who's mother makes delicious homemade salsa...I always return the jar and have in fact sent boxes of empty jars (left over from the wedding) to her mothe...

Re: Kids in locked hot car... hammer solves problem

I'll admit it...I once locked my keys in the car with an infant in a carseat....my precious niece...in front of my son's elementary school. This was before we all had cell phones...I ran into the school and made a scene to ask them to call the police...the fire dept. responded with a tool to unlock ...

The time has passed quickly, it seems. It feels like just yesterday you were announcing the good news. Good times ahead! Wow, that location problem for baby care--I guess you and SIL can meet at a midway point and exchange baby each AM. Actually....my son works in Oak Cliff...comes down 75 every mo...

I agree with LL.

But, it's a shame....could have been a great school.

Now...there are so many kids who missed an education and will be behind no matter what school they end up in.

I started reading Zits in the car when it first appeared in the DMN many years ago...about the time my son was 13. I was reading it in the car because my kids went to different schools and there was a 25 minute lag time between starting bells....I'd let my son out at the 5th grade school and wait in...
