Waiting...Waiting....Waiting...

Waiting to join the Grandparents Club.....Should be soon.....within a week or 3. I've been so busy lately....Mom's not doing well, MIL had dental surgery and it took a few days for her to really recover (THATS a crazy story!) and I've had a bout of upper resp. virus. We've showered the new to be par...

Re: The Cowboys

Dancer...what year was the 1-15 season? I could google...but I'm lazy...or Knot. :) My hubby's business has always had better years when the Cowboys were winning.....it has been documented by the bookkeeper (who was the biggest fan next to the previous owner of the business). As hubby and I are begi...

Re: 1 in 3 Alzheimer's cases preventable, says research

Although my mother never smoked...she fits all the other criteria....and even though she has a tendency to grasp for specific words now...she is still pretty sharp. However, the rest of her health is pretty much shot. I think that list is good for all of us to observe. I know I need to add more acti...

She has grandsons in their late teens I think.... I recently watched the series "The 60's"...on CNN I think...it was very interesting. I remember mentions of some of the world happenings, but I was a child and didn't remember details...I need to watch the series again so I fully understand...

Re: What's your favorite cleaner?

Of course, my TRUE favorite cleaner is Clorox Clean Up. If regular cleaners can't clean it, Clorox will. Before we re-did the showers...mold would show up in the silicon between the tile & tub/door....and a squirt with a Clorox Bleach Pen left overnight would clear that right up. We replaced our...

Re: What's your favorite cleaner?

I love the Mr. Clean magic sponge in my bathroom...it makes my old tub sparkle. A friend recently told me she uses Oxyclean powder in her Hoover Steamatic Carpet Cleaner and it takes up every stain she has ever tried it on. She uses a full scoop then fills the container with boiling water and adds t...

Re: A Txdigest poll: What's your favorite type vehicle?

What is the difference between a crossover and a SUV? Crossovers are built on a car chassis SUVs are/were based on a truck chassis. IIRC Lexux was one of the first to build a crossover with their RX300 series. Looks like an SUV and was built on a car chassis. So....my Tahoe was an SUV...I loved tha...

Yes, I use ours all the time. Hubby likes an iceberg salad every night. Keeps the lettuce crisp for days. Mine is the OXO brand from Bed, Bath & Beyond...it is old. Looks like they have collapsible spinners now.

Re: Call me pin cushion

Sorry you had to go through that. I was really sick as a small child...like they thought I had leukemia (but I didn't...long boring story that ended well eventually)...I had biweekly blood draws when I was 5-7 yrs old. I got used to it. Most of the time they got the best of the best to draw from me ...

Re: That father in Georgia who let child die in car

Me, too, Grouchy. You may remember that I am a retired daycare provider for infants and toddlers for over 15 years (not counting the years I raised my own, and my girlfriend's kiddos). I NEVER forgot that a child was in my car. I just don't see how that happens. But I try to not judge. I suppose som...

Re: Poison Ivy

Thanks for the review, LL! My hubby is allergic and so is my sister. I have never had it, even though I pulled it up out of the flower beds at my hubby's office. So, maybe that is the only plant I'm NOT allergic to!

Is that over the counter? I might get some for "just in case".

Re: Ten sunscreens that won't poison you

Interesting. I have wondered about all the chemicals we are slathering on our skin....sunscreen...bug repellent....even the ones we ladies use on our faces to prevent wrinkles and encourage "collegin production" (hmmm...that's not spelled correctly). Also...which is a big deal these days.....
