Re: Dairy Queen

Youngest talked me into getting a jalapeno burger a couple of years ago... it was gooooood!

I like their shakes with stuff mixed in. Haven't had one in ages. I'm too old to process that many calories.

Re: Jeb Bush is breaking his pledge..

..to support the Republican nominee. Is anyone really surprised? Most former candidates are deeply entrenched as GOP Establishment and they do not like the idea - not-one-bit - of an outsider actually getting the nom. They're pouting. And this should be remembered in the next election cycle: who ke...

Re: First vacation you can remember

Vacations our family had were not really vacations as they were obligatory family visits or in conjunction with a business trip or convention. The concept of visiting some place just for fun was foreign to me. I think the first family vacation just for fun was when I was 8 or 9 and we went to Concan...

Ditto. It's a sickness like irritable bowel syndrome or cancer and I don't care to be inundated with those either.

Re: Go ahead, ridicule me

We watched. It was really more of a production (how it was pulled off) spectacle than anything else. That said, we enjoyed: the dance routines - all well done and in keeping with the original movie the music - mostly well done. There's always some lip synching/overdubbing involved. You cannot dance ...

Re: cell phone plans

I believe AT&T's new strategy of not giving away the phones in exchange for the two year commitment is a little short-sighted on their part. Since the customers are now paying for the phones and making no commitment to the carrier, it will be much easier for the customers to move from carrier t...

Busy last night....took frozen dimsum out of the freezer and munched on those while watching the news. :)

Thinking about a big batch of chicken 'n dumplings tonight to divvy up to the senior relatives tonight since it's going to be a chilly night.

Santorum and Huckabee, who were not invited to the Adult Debate Table, also attended in support of the cause.

Re: Coffee

Coffee.... yes, I drink it sometimes. :D We have a restaurant-style commercial coffee maker. Makes 12 cups at a time, no more, no less. I grind the beans fresh for each pot. We use Costco beans. They're the cheapest I've found and really good. My favorite coffee bean comes from Dean & Deluca. It...

Re: 0ne Million yesterday, five million today

It's about the voluntarily replay value. Virtually no other event prompts the public to seek out commercials. Most of us try to figure out how to avoid them. After the Super Bowl: There are compilations of all the SB commercials. There are You Tube versions. There's talk about the commercials for da...

No. Reagan was told by his advisers to skip the debate as he was the clear front-runner in a smaller field.

Trump is skipping it for entirely different reasons.

Most interesting:
Last game of the NBA Finals and the Superbowl. I like hockey finals, but husband is not that interested in hockey.
Otherwise, we don't watch sports.

Re: Flooring Question

I did Bamboo flooring in the master eons ago when I had 4 cats in the house. It was a do-it-yourself project and was successful. After 10 years, here's what I discovered: It will fade when the sun hits it. It's really obvious when the rug gets moved. If you drop something heavy on it, it will dent. ...

Yeah, that. She was whiny and my gut instinct tells me she lacks a serious backbone when it gets down to it.

Good to know I'm in good company but so sorry y'all are hurting!! Two days before Christmas, I bent down to pick up a piece of lint from the floor and thought I was never going to straighten up again. But I did and proceeded to consume mass quantities of advil and used the Christmas season as a reas...
