Flashing yellow arrows
will be installed
at 5 intersections on Hwy. 174
CITY OF BURLESON
Keep an eye out for flashing yellow arrow signals on Hwy. 174 (Wilshire Boulevard).
The Texas Department of Transportation issued a news release Aug. 19 saying that the flashing yellow arrow signals will be installed at five intersections on Hwy. 174, including Hillery Street, Renfro Street, Ellison Street, Newton Drive and Summercrest Boulevard.
A solid green arrow means drivers can proceed with a left turn; solid yellow means drivers should prepare to stop; a solid red arrow means drivers turning left must stop and wait; and a flashing yellow arrow means drivers may proceed with a left turn after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians.
The installation should be complete in September, weather permitting. For more information, this is a link to the TxDOT NEWS RELEASE. You can also view a DIAGRAM of what the new signalization means. And to see a video of what the traffic flow will look like with the new arrows, go to the TxDOT VIDEO on YouTube.
