Americans being held in North Korea

Postby LibraryLady » Mon Sep 01, 2014 1:25 pm

I find it hard to feel a lot of sympathy for their ignorant acts.

If you plan to visit a place that everyone knows is led by a dictator--and knows he is a man who won't flinch at extreme action, and that the country is hostile to the US and to any outsider doing anything to violate their rules--------WHY would you go there, deliberately violate the rules and then ask the US to bail you out?

The young one, stupidly, tore up his US documents and said he wanted to defect to NK. Now he is angry because the US government is not working hard to get him out of there. Apparently it was not the utopia he thought it was.

I'm sad for their loved ones, but all 3 did things that they knew would be trouble.
I guess now they will believe NK plays hardball.
