HDTV flat panel tv.... want to run it off the car battery

Postby PlanoSooner » Thu Oct 02, 2014 9:53 pm

Got this spare 32" ish hd flat panel. The thing says 50W on the back. Does that mean a 50w inverter will drive it?

Should, but it will probably cause the inverter to run hot. Rule of thumb if your device wants 1 amp, make sure your source can provide twice that.

Get at least a 100 watt inverter . Remember the inverter will draw 4.2 amps (for the 50 watts) plus whatever the inverter losses. Don't leave it on too long!
