Why do people ride motorcycles?

I've wondered this for a long time now. The only question is when will you have an accident. Gordon Duff over at Veteranstoday.com had one recently.
Broke about everything you can break. But, I'll bet as soon as he's able he will be riding it again.

I have a brother in law who is addicted to motorcycles. Back when he was in his late teens, he had an accident. He was thrown through a barbed wire fence. When he landed he was minus a foot! So, every since then he has had to wear a wooden foot! He married, had 6 kids and has lots of grandkids. Was very successful in business. He still rides and has 4 or 5 bikes. Only 1 is a 3 wheeler. Goes up to Stergis about every year. He had another accident a couple years ago, but wasn't seriously injured in that one.

I guess I don't get it.

Witnessed a couple lay it down doing 70. on Hwy 6/Bryan

Turned around and called 911. Shut down the Hwy. I did not want to get to close for fear of what I would see. 911 prompted me to look.
Shockingly, both were alive.
Male ( bald ) had a hole in his head the size of a fist. People holding him down while covering his head. Woman sitting up bleeding all down her face.
Both survived.

And the cause......road rage from another car ......pretty much ran them off the road

There is a term for those people: "In denial".

Motorcyclists are 35 times more likely to be in a fatal accident per mile. They are only four times more likely per 100,000, but there are a lot more cars.

A buddy of mine has a Harley-Davidson trike. If anyone thinks riding a trike is a piece of cake compared to a bike is sadly mistaken. Hilarious & horrifying to watch one of our other classmates, who rode his Harley 1,200 miles to our class reunion last year, couldn't get it out of the parking lot & barely missed the only light pole in the lot.
