Just to clarify, there is a one-time $700 payout for critical needs like food, clothing and medicine. There are several other types of assistance from FEMA that can be authorized, such as temporary housing. Many victims are being put up in Maui hotels. But they are probably not like the $1000 a night rooms FEMA employees are enjoying.
