Fiberglass --cleaning it

Was just doing some reading on cleaning a fiberglass shower stall.
One website was singing the praises of R.O.G. cleaner....

I wondered: What do boat owners use? In the past, weren't some sports cars made of fiberglass? What did those car owners use?

I used simple green and mothers wax on my Stingray, I wouldn't use the mothers on a shower stall I would bond amid or similar.
