I apologize ahead of time for the assault on your ears

Postby jellowrestling » Sat Aug 24, 2024 12:31 pm

I just watched this abomination. It's not the worst I've heard, but it sounds like amateurs. It's clear that they aren't used to singing the song:

I’m guessing..they worked that out..themselves.
If you’re “woke”..you’re a loser.

Not good, but not horrible. Hard to do the SSB a capella in 3 part harmony.

Now here’s a Trump supporter’s rendition.

I could pick three kids at random from the Trinity High show choir, and they would do an exponentially better job.

Well, no.

Actually, they would. And do, regularly. Have you ever heard those kids sing?

jello, I worked out all of the harmonies for most bands I've been in for over 40 years (Hell, over 50 years -yikes) and I worked a lot of programs when my yougest daughter was in show choir and theatre at Bowie a few years ago.
In fact, I was the musical director for her senior musical, "1940's Radio Hour" which was a quite ambitious undertaking. I worked with them on the vocals, the harmonies, played piano and conducted the stage band.
They were very, very good. But to take any 3 random kids and get them to sing close order harmony on one of the toughest songs there is to sing is not something you just do.
