Inauguration thread

Postby Mark » Mon Jan 20, 2025 10:15 am

I almost never watch any of the cable news channels, but I'm watching this morning, because I want to see President Trump's inauguration and I also want to see his inaugural address.

For others that are watching, we can discuss the event here in this thread.

Dan Quayle and Mike Pence were just introduced and entered the room together.

My opinion: Dan Quayle>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mike Pence.

And for those that don't remember, Dan Quayle's infamous "potato" incident was due to the dumbass teacher having it misspelled on the flash card.

I can't help but wonder if Barack Obama is a little embarrassed about attending these historical events without Michelle. It sure sets off the rumor mill. But of course it could be a situation he is totally cool with.

I was the AV guy where I worked for 40 years. When there was a technical glitch during a presentation everybody looked at me like I had ruined the entire event. I even got called into the CEO's office once and chewed out for something that was not my fault. So it's always satisfying to see a glitch at the highest level. Sometimes shit just happens.

Crawling out from under my rock to comment on this.

I'm 66 years old and I never have watched an entire inauguration, ever, usually because I would be at work. Usually I would just see a snippet of the swearing-in if anything.

I'm glad I watched all of this one.

Is Rachel Maddow in jail yet? What's ABC going to put on tomorrow to replace The View?

I accidently tuned into MSNBC earlier, thereby doubling their viewer numbers (sorry about that). Rachel was wearing widow's weeds, only missing a black veil.

I can, once again, wear my MAGA hat in public.

I heard that the entire panel on "The View" announced they are not having sex until Trump is gone, and the entire male population took a sigh of relief that set off a bipolar vortex across the Lower 48.

It’s still a Capitol offense where I live.

I guess that is why he was booted out of office after only one term. And only got a 2nd term because he ran against a girl!

He got the most votes for an incumbent president in American history. By a wide margin.

The Democrats made it very easy for him. Biden is virtually senile and Harris is an air head. She deserved to loose. But, Trump was a bad choice. He can only serve 4 more years and then he's out. And he will not be able to do most of what they expect him to do. Closing the border now is like locking the gate after the cows are out!
