Sanders, AOC caught boarding $15,000-per-hour luxury jet to depart Bakersfield rally

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) used a luxury private jet to fly to their Fighting Oligarchy rally in Bakersfield earlier this week.

The progressive duo were spotted boarding the luxury plane after they left the Bakersfield rally, according to a report from Fox News.


The big picture: Per the report, Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez are spending $15,000 per hour to use the luxury Bombardier Challenger private jet for the Fighting Oligarchy tour.

They were seen boarding the jet at the Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield after their rally.
Ventura Air Services operates the Bombardier Challenger and markets it as one of the widest cabins of any business jet available on the market. It also provides “superior cabin comfort,” with the price coming in at up to $15,000 per hour.
Go deeper: According to flight records, the jet flew to Sacramento Mather Airport from Bakersfield on Tuesday. Sanders and Ocasio-Held another rally in Folsom, near Sacramento, after leaving Bakersfield.

Before their Bakersfield rally, flight records show that the luxury jet traveled to Salt Lake City and Boise on the same days when the pair held rallies in those two cities.
What they’re saying: “Champagne socialists Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez demand Americans surrender their pick-up trucks, air conditioning and meat from the luxe leather seats of their private jets that cost more per hour than most Americans earn in months. Their hypocrisy is staggering,” National Republican Congressional Committee spokesperson Ben Petersen said in a statement.
