I let my anti-virus expire. Guess what happened?

Basically, nothing except a lot of scare messages. As far as I can tell nothing else will happen. How long the messages will last I don't know. Maybe they will eventually they will stop. Anybody know? Apparently antivirus is built into Windows now so you don't need to buy it separately. Since my friendly computer shop down the street sold out and it's replacement moved away, I have nobody to ask!

I don't mind paying as long as I'm getting something for it. So far, I haven't seen anything. And I've got an even bigger problem. All 4 fingers of my left hand are now bent forward to the point that I make a lot of mistakes. Also, the little finger of my right one. Maybe I need hand transplants.
