Re: 7.7 X 58mm
I some how ended up with three of them, two in original condition with the defaced Mum, and one Bubbaized sporter. I acquired 7.7 JAP loading dies in a trade also.
They all shoot very well.
Mine all have chromed lined bores.
Does yours have the defaced Mum ?
A cleaning rod ? etc.

i dont think it is defaced. not near it at the moment. but i seen to remember the little flower.
dad said it shot well.
will be looking for a place to go play with it, far away from people. lol. it is a cannon for sure.
mine is sporterized. has a crappy scope.
do you think a 30-06 bore sight would be a tight enough fit to bore sight?

a .308 spud should be A-OK, the Arisakas seem to run .309-.312 or so.
With a bolt action I have better luck removing the bolt and looking down the barrel at the bull and adjusting the scope. I can remember the last time I used a collimator on a boltgun.

Re: 7.7 X 58mm
what distance do you start when looking down the barrel?

Re: 7.7 X 58mm
It depends on the size of the target, 25 yards will work with a 4 inch bullseye.
I then get on paper at 25 yards before moving out to a 100 or longer range.

Re: 7.7 X 58mm
got it.
i have several boxes of ammo in different grains.
i will use up some less desirable grains for sighting and then back that up with the desired grain test shot
thanks for the help.
