Some guy named George Strait is having a concert tonight here in DFW.
After some research I kinda like the guy.

I barely know who George Strait is. I've never heard one of his songs.
I can talk all day about Lefty Frizzell, Carl Smith or Flatt and Scruggs.

I met George about 15 years ago at a small convenience store out side of Austin. He was gassing up his truck and so was I. I said "George Strait"? Heh,, He turned his to the left and then to right and said, "where"?

He was very polite and singed an autograph.

My daughters know every single word from Pure Country.

Have you been living under a rock? He's only been around about 30 years and maybe had 30 or 40 no.1 hits.

I don't listen to or watch anything that would play his music.
I'll listen to a country oldies station if there is one on the air. Otherwise, I have plenty to listen to here.
Classic country is usually considered as being recorded before 1970.

Well do yourself a favor and check out some of his songs, he's a good un. Not like the Nashvegas crap, at least not all of it.

First time I heard George, he was singing "Amarillo by morning" on some radio station we picked up in our truck on our way to Amarillo in the middle of the night driving to Summit county CO to go skiing....loved the sound of his voice ever since.

And, seriously, a little Florida Georgia Line would do you old fogys some good on occasion. Get your blood moving....gotta keep up with the young folk. They have a great beat for asking the neighborhood..
