Enjoy an afternoon of storytelling and hands-on activities related to cowboys and the American frontier to celebrate the 179th birthday of Texas. The Dallas Historical Society will hold A Cowboy's Chuckwagon, on February 28th, 2015 from 12-4 p.m.

This special event shows what life was like for children in pioneer times. See how food was prepared from a chuck wagon, try cotton spinning, butter churning, and pioneer games at this Texas-themed celebration on the lawn of the Hall of State in Fair Park. Enjoy playing with frontier toys and games, check out a frontier kitchen, and more hand on interactive activities. The event is free and open to the public

Yep supposed to be nasty. Six Flags is supposedly opening this weekend too. I'll bet they don't.
