clams are good , breaded and fried on a toasted bun with tarter sauce . Scallops are also good . Cod , mostly eaten poached and then buttered but I do like deep fried fish and chips , heavy on the fish and a few chips !!

I left out Lobster, pretty tasty for a ocean going cockroach :)

Clams 'wid de bellies' are not for me; I had quite an experience with those in Whar-Wick Whode Eyeland. :)

Yeah, the bellies are for the hard core folks.

..and Rhode Island is less of a seafood place then Massachusetts.

In R.I. we eat Sicilian..and sometimes N.Y. System hot wienies..look 'em up ..not at all like hot dogs and not found in N.Y. ..only R.I.

I've given up on sushi. We were at the coast for our usual 4th of July reunion. Our older son mentioned a couple times "I think I'm having a heart attack." No, he wouldn't go to the ER (he's very dumb medically). He had a business meeting in San Antonio on Monday. Sunday night he drove to San Antonio and the pain kept getting worse. He went to the ER after he checked into the hotel. I got there as they were prepping him for surgery. I had on a Progresso MX teeshirt and the surgeon asked "Did you happen to make a trip to Mexico with your mother and eat raw fish?" He had an abscess in his abdomen and they're pretty sure it was from raw fish. Ugh! I'll never touch sushi that does have seafood and I hate that sticky rice so....no sushi for me. Of course HE still loves it and has it often. I called him Friday to see if he'd be here for dinner today. He answered as he was getting off the plane in Cabo. I guess he won't be here for dinner.

I really enjoy sushi but that story might cause me to reconsider.

I was introduced to sushi 1n the 1960's when I was stationed in Japan.
That was long before it became a fad over here.
I liked it.
I wouldn't eat it here because the fish has to be absolutely fresh- caught the same day.
I don't think that is possible in DFW.
I'll eat the non raw fish versions of sushi. It's good, too.

No sushi, squid, oysters, crabs, lobsters or anything similar for me. I can't understand why people pay good money to eat like a castaway.

I like sushi and never worried about eating it this far from the oceans, sashimi I also like when I can see and smell the ocean.
It's ok if you disagree with me.

No, he hadn't been to Mexico in quite awhile. Cabo is his regular Mexican city. It's pretty gross now that they take pictures during surgery. That was nasty! His sister had to rescue him at the hospital. She was on staff and had to tell them "No, he's not a drug seeker. He's a marathon runner." They really do hesitate to give adequate pain control in metropolitan cities until they're sure they aren't addicts.
