Postby BillB » Mon Apr 20, 2015 9:36 pm

Blue Bell is recalling all of their products.
They're done for.

I eat their ice cream bars all the time. Maybe that's why I'm sick!

It will hurt them, obviously, but Blue Bell customers are way too fond of (and loyal to) the product for this to do them in for good.

It will be interesting to see their marketing strategy when they start producing again. Will stores want to play wait and see?

Kids, I bought you some Blue Bell.
Gee thanks, Mom.

If Blue Bell is #3, wonder who the number 1 and 2 ice cream sellers are?

If BB wasn't around, who would you buy your ice cream from? I would probably do Braums...already do sometimes, but BB is better ice cream for the most part.

They haven't done any damage control that I have seen.
I saw a Blue Bell executive on the news and he didn't have much to say to inspire confidence.

I heard, yesterday, that they said they would be checking each and every batch of ice cream before packaging. That sounds like a big move for safety to me.

It appears to me that BB is being above board and doing all they can. But then again, two people have died. I didn't realize that.

I'll go to Braums today and get a half gallon. Yes, I'd prefer Blue Bell. We're having a family dinner here tonight and I made a buttermilk cake. One grandson doesn't eat cake but loves chocolate ice cream, so he'll get that instead (and anyone else that wants it).
