I can't begin to relate to people who spend perfectly good money on jewelry - much less take out a loan to buy jewelry. :o

If I showed your post about jewelry to my wife, she would scratch her head for a week.

But, I don't take loans for anything..other than the one for my house.

McCain's wife wore over $200,000 in clothes and jewelry, to McCain's acceptance speech in 2008.

I take it she likes jewelry. :D

I feel the same way about clothes and accessories. I missed out when they were passing out the girly girly traits. Now had it been good Tennessee Walking Horses, Poodles (or heck, almost any dog), or donkeys......................................'nother story. ;)

The RNC spent $200,000 on Palin's campaign wardrobe in 2008.
$20,000 of that was for makeup.
They claimed to have given the clothes to charity after the election. I guess the makeup went back to Sherwin-Williams.

Yeah, you nailed it. I think it's safe to say I married a girly girl.

I'm not sure she knows what a donkey is!

I would have said I don't give a flip about jewelry last week, but my hubs gave me a ring with 5 large diamonds to signify 5 decades of marriage. I do have a couple things I treasure...my wedding ring, a dinner ring, and a ring that my son gave to me when he was in kindergarten at Miller Grove school. Mother's Day was coming up and they had a little store where they could buy things for their mothers. He probably didn't have more than a dollar. It was actually a lovely looking ring - jade, 2 diamond chips and elaborate "gold". One night, my son and I were going to a movie. I was fixing my hair in the dressing room and he was going through my jewelry box. He pulled out that ring and said "What is this?!" I told him and he said "You kept it?" I loved that ring, I just couldn't wear it. At Christmas, there was a very small gift bag for me. I opened it and cried. He said "I thought you liked that ring." I never knew he took it and had our jeweler cast it in gold, jade and those 2 diamond chips. I wear it daily.

But I do like precious metals in my portfolio!

Ann, what a precious gift from your son...........and your husband.

Jewelry:
I forget to wear what I have.
I confess to liking rings. The only expensive ring I have is my wedding ring--I have a couple of rings with small diamonds, but I doubt they would get anything at the pawn shop.
