And if this bakery gets put out of business, how many cakes that were previously ordered won't get made, leaving innocent clients to scramble for another baker?
Selfish.

I agree, selfish. The Klein's should have considered this before they decided to discriminate in a manner the State deemed unacceptable. The law looks clear to me. The Klein's were just selfish grandstanders thinking of no one but themselves.
But, I don't think they are the vicious scofflaws they at first appear to be. They just got carried away with the attention. And, maybe, they just got bad advice from some of the RW funds and foundations that specializing in using cases like this for fund raising and publicity.

"The state deemed unacceptable."
"Selfish grandstanders."
"Vicious scofflaws.

Another way to say the State deems it unacceptable is to say it is AGAINST the law. You like laws right?
Yes, they are selfish grandstanders. They were so hungry for the attention they expected to get they put their entire business (and the interests of their other clients) at risk. I suspect they thought they would get a lot of contributions for standing up to persecution. Why didn't they just make the cake and over-charge them...that would have been legal.
Perhaps "vicious" was a bit much...but not much. They willfully chose to break a law the new about and understood...but didn't like. That sort of makes them scofflaws in my opinion. And, possibly, bad people for all their Christian protestations. Yeah, if they were decent people they would have made the cake and the money.

Read what you wrote.
That is exactly the kind of things that were said about Rosa Parks and MLK Jr.
Let's look a little closer at one of your quotes:
They willfully chose to break a law the new sic about and understood...but didn't like.

That is precisely what happened with Rosa Parks. She sat in the front of a bus- breaking a law she didn't like.
In your mind, she and King were scofflaws and possibly bad people.

Selfish and very hateful. Where are the "love thy neighbor" protestors now? Aren't people who stand by their moral convictions deserving of the respect and "love" they demand for themselves?
Some coffee cups are just too small.
