Don't know why but this thought just crossed my mind.

Postby millergrovesue » Thu Jul 16, 2015 9:11 am

Listened to sports news on WBAP then saw a picture of the latest hot golfer - Speight, I think that's his name. He's pretty hot in more ways than one. :D But, I wonder what life is like being married to a pro golfer. I can't imagine staying awake while he talks about the last game, swing he made, improvements he needs to make, special moments..................*yawn*

Other boring professions that spouses might have to struggle to stay awake while listening to work stories anyone?

Trash collector comes to mind too.

Jordan Spieth is 21 years old, and not married.

It was intended to be a fun thread, not a fact filled one.

Just be thankful you dont sleep next to Mike Rowe, the tv personality who stars in DIRTY JOBS, no telling what he might talk about at night. YUCK

My guess is that the spouses of professional athletes fight through the boredom by looking out the window at what's parked in the driveway.

Can't stand watching tennis. Who wants to spend hours listening to someone grunt when they hit the ball.

Any game that can end in a zero zero tie is not a sport. Soccer is exercise not a sport.

Dirty Jobs was actually cancelled. Mike Rowe is doing basically the same show under the title "Somebody's Got to Do It" on CNN. But the focus now is more on the unusual than the dirty. BTW, did you know that before he got into TV Mike Rowe sang professionally with the Baltimore Opera?

"My guess is that the spouses of professional athletes fight through the boredom by looking out the window at what's parked in the driveway."

That's a definite possibility.

Do you suppose they grunt like that during sex. "Uh, excuse me dear but you sound like you're at work."

Think I've mentioned before that I used to date a city league soccer player. The guy was a delight to the eye. Sadly, he not only knew it but had a pretty undelightful personality to offset the physical delightfulness. After a game he talked on and on about it for hours on end...........all this while the television was going. I got very good at following the t.v. show while responding appropriately to his comments yet not having a clue what he was saying.

Within a week of dumping the jerk I met a really dear looking honorable USAF Captain. I knew the night I met him that I would marry him. It was a very wise move.

For the most part, no one really wants to hear me talk about my job preparing taxes.

I don't golf anymore. It was fun and I enjoyed it when I didn't golf with my husband. Some of us who worked nights golfed in the morning and then went home to bed. So, I don't watch on TV EXCEPT to get the scores and see how the "youngster" did. I really like his attitude and personality.

I don't believe professional athletes go through the game they just played. If the wives weren't there, they watched it on TV and knew what happened, when, etc. They do have a family life and probably talk about what most people talk about...kids, schedules, etc.

The man that cleans our building at work is also a trash collector. It's actually pretty interesting to hear the things they are given or that they find while on their route.

Humor in the library world: You can put a anyone to sleep by discussing the shelf list. (a list of the order in which all the books in the library are SUPPOSED to be shelved)

Lordy, I don't discuss it, and wonder why anyone wants to!
