Tractor Wanted

Postby Red Oak » Sun Jul 19, 2015 3:22 pm

If any you know of anyone that has a good 65-100 horse power diesel tractor for sale, please let me know.

I need something that will pull a 8 foot disk and power a 7 foot shredder.

I would love to find a good old JD 4020, MF 175, or Ford 5000 or 6000 series.

If you're on Facebook, go join a group called "Man Cave Resale East TX" and put up an ad there. That group has nearly 50,000 members.

I have asked my brother if his tractor fits your needs and if he really plans to sell.

The problem: He lives in Alvin.

LL my friend, for the right tractor I could have it shipped, or maybe pick it up.

We have MF 175 but we brought it from Miller Grove. But we do keep it and when we're gone, our kids will probably bury it. We don't use it often, and the neighbors occasionally borrow it. It's old as we bought it from a friend who went to a MF with a cab. HA! It was my mother's day gift! Tom brought it over and showed me the basics. I drove it around and loved it. HOWEVER, Tom forgot to tell me how to stop it! So, praying I wouldn't run out of diesel, I drove it around and around and around till Steve got home. We love this old tractor!

All we have is an 8N Ford. Talk about worthless. It drags hay rolls because it doesn't have the power to pick up even small rolls.

Ann I believe that series was built mid-60s to late 70s - very good simple solid old tractors.

That would be about right, Red Oak. Wish I could help. The feed stores usually have boards up with farm equipment for sale just to help their customers. At least that's how it's done in east Texas. I would assume you have a feed store, maybe on your way home from work? Or if you're lucky as we were, a friend is ready to move up to a much bigger tractor.

And now I remember it was Valentine's gift. My friend reminded me of church on Sunday after Valentine's day. One of the women was showing off her diamond ring. My friend said "You should see Ann's gift!" It was killing that woman and finally after church, Judy told her what it was. Bwahahaha! Cost lots more than a diamond!
