There is generally some underlying reason that,when stopped by police for a traffic violation, someone gets aggressive toward the officer. Something you want to cover up from the officer or a personal issue projected toward the cop.
The officer has no idea why you suddenly get froggy and it's their business to try and find the reason.
In today's environment she could have had a trunk full of contraband and the length of the stop caused her to become concerned that she had been discovered.When smokers get nervous they tend to light up,another sign of some other issue.
Had the officer just responded with have a nice day and Ms Bland proceeded to the closest church then detonated the 500 pounds of C4 hidden in the car, the officer would have been ripped asunder by people wondering why he hadn't questioned her further.
