Suicide

Postby Sangersteve » Thu Jul 23, 2015 5:34 pm

The lead prosecutor investigating the death of a woman in a Texas jail cell said Thursday that injuries consistent with a violent homicide were not found during an autopsy.

Warren Diepraam, Assistant District Attorney of Waller County, released additional details of the autopsy of 28-year-old Sandra Bland, who was found hanging in her jail cell on July 13.

Diepraam said the autopsy conducted by the Harris County medical examiner showed Bland had “no defensive injuries” on her hands, and that lacerations on her wrists were consistent with a struggle while behind handcuffed by officers.

Marks that were around Bland’s neck were also consistent with a suicide, Diepraam said.

There was a picture of a white garbage bag fashioned into a noose.

I was wondering where she got , haven't been in jail lately but I hear that they try to keep anything that can be fashioned into a weapon or suicide device out of reach . Obvious to me that a plastic bag can be used as a noose with just a bit of twisting .

Seems like the Waller jail messed up every way they could.
She marked that she had attempted suicide in the past (meaning she should have been watched closely.)
Jailer marked, "No suicide."

Leaving plastic bag around = foolish decision

On a related note--a person has to be darned desperate to select hanging as the method of suicide. It does not happen easily. Robin Williams--sheesh, how did he manage it? This lady--twist the plastic and then manage to get it tight, not an easy thing.

And that's not a very common form of suicide for women. Heard this a.m. that marijuana was found in her system.
Working to love my fellow person regardless : >

DMN says she took ?? for seizures --and a side effect of that Rx is suicidal thoughts.

Waller jail has had some serious flaws in the past (prisoner escape, another suicide by prisoner).

The stars aligned with macho cop, woman with attitude and incompetent jailers, it seems.

Compliance on the part of the woman and we're not talking about this.

Has anyone who has ever had the misfortune to be hassled on a bogus traffic stop by an officer with an attitude made the situation better by copping an attitude of their own?
