Two small locals. I miss reading DMN and ST like they used to be.

This. The only big city paper we can get now is the Houston Chronicle, and its Houston....
Re: Anyone still get the newspaper
I loved the days of Jim Tinkle, George Dolan, Harold Maples, Jerry Flemmons, and Ed Brice.

I am a never Kamalaite!

I read somewhere today that the DMN is having a large employee buyout. Steve Blow was one of the names mentioned.

We've been saying for several years now that it was only a matter of time before the Morning News stopped its print edition. This may be the seminal moment in that timeline.

There was a time when I would have been very disappointed to hear that, but not anymore.
To be clear, I'm sad about the DMN dwindling but not about Blow taking the departure package.
Some coffee cups are just too small.

I gave up the DMN two years ago and really don't miss it that much. I buy a Sunday paper once every 6 weeks or so but $3.00 is too much for a paper. And $1.50 for the daily? Unacceptable!
When I quit the DMN daily it was the first time in 60+ years that there wasn't a daily paper delivered to my place.

Re: Anyone still get the newspaper
I always enjoyed reading a paper, but the internet has rendered them pretty useless for anything other than the advertising. They are literally yesterday's news.
And it's hard to justify buying the Sunday paper just for the ads. The paper is basically charging me for the ads that the advertisers have already paid for.

I've met Steve Blow in person and he seemed nice. Came out and gave a free of charge program for our group. But there are people who really don't like him which I don't get. Maybe there's something I don't know?
