Question of the day.
Question of the day.
If you had the power to get one of your past pets "reincarnated", which one would it be. Please tell us a little bit (or a lot) about said pet.

Re: Question of the day.
Tough question. There is my best horse ever but then there are a slew (how many are in a slew?) of doggies. I just can't pick one single dog over another. All had traits that made them unique and special. Thinking about them individually makes me happy/sad.

How 'bout you, Grouchy? Is there a particular pet that stands out for you?

Dont remember a favorite dog, thats all I had. I would imagine it would have to be the one who was housebroken the quickest

This is harder than naming the favorite grandkids. Other that when I was overseas, I have always had at least one dog. Lots of different breeds and I loved them all. Right now we have four yorkies and one dane. Danes are my favorite breed.
I guess the one I would most want back would be Erin. We lost her @ 2years ago. She was special in so many ways. Very beautiful, alert, protective, calm and affectionate. At least one a night she would get up to stretch and put her head up on my chest for a rub.
Re: Question of the day.
If I could only get one horse back it would be Dutch. American Saddle bred Palomino gelding. I grew up with Quarter Horses, but the first time I got on him, I was hooked. Karen would chose Stormie, a beautiful Tennessee Walker. We miss them both.

Re: Question of the day.
Tennessee Walkers are all I've ever owned..........well my first horse was an American Saddlebred. Other than that all TWs. My best ever horse was Mr. Conservative - I called him Uncle C. Big gait, true rocking chair canter. He was not the smartest horse ever but he did know to come running to me when he had a horse fly. He would stand quietly while I whacked the thing then he'd go back to grazing. He knew voice commands and could be ridden with only leg pressure. He was a big "stump pulling" old fashioned Walker with the roman nose and big bones. He was beautiful. Sorrel with flax mane and tail. I had him for 20 years before arthritis did him in. He's buried out behind the barn. My sister painted a portrait of him. I have 2 pix of me riding him framed and in a bookcase in the living room.

Stormie was also a sorrel with the beautiful mane and tail. We bought both of them when I took the job in Houston. We bought a place on seven acres in the woods between Conroe and the Woodlands.
When we came back to the farm @ 20 years ago, they thought they had died and gone to heaven.

Re: Question of the day.
Several years ago, the ex brought home a Schnauzer-Chihuahua mix and named her Tootsie. She should have named her Sparky.
She had been crated all day by her previous owner, so being able to run all over a house was heavenly to her. She also took over the entire house, including being boss of the other two dogs which were several times her size. While she was alive, she had many a chase through the doggie door with our lab, finally destroying the door.
She quickly became "my" dog and would protect me against anything and anybody that she thought was a threat, including the spouse. When she met strangers, she would bark furiously at them, then let them pet her, then bark again. For some reason, she liked cats.
She also loved playing catch with tennis balls. She would commonly walk up with a ball in her mouth, growling, wanting to play catch.
Good grief what a ball of fire that dog was.

Schnauzer and Chihuahua mix. Two breeds with definite attitudes. I'll bet she was a ball of fire!

It sounds like she was a fun dog. Our dominant female yorkie, Izzie love to play ball. Especially outside.
