Colorado soldier’s dog sold on Craigslist
while he is serving in Afghanistan

A 3-year-old Shiba Inu will be returned to a soldier's family after the dog was sold on Craigslist in a complicated saga that started when Robert (Robby) Gabbert of Colorado was deployed to Afghanistan.
He left his beloved dog Baxter with his girlfriend, who apparently got tired of caring for the pup and sold him on Craigslist without telling Gabbert, who is still serving overseas.
Gabbert's family found out about the sale and launched a social media search, which went viral, to find Baxter's new home.
They did. After first expressing reluctance, Baxter's new owners will give the dog to Gabbert's parents. The family has two children who were instantly smitten by the pooch. Both families are negotiating a handover.
