Humingbirds

Get the feeders out. Some have arrived.

We have had at least two visiting. Husband saw them on our saliva, so he put the feeders out and has seen them at the feeders.

One bird type I really miss..is robins.

Growing up in New England, that was the best indicator of things looking up..the robins came back.

I've never seen a one in Southern California.

Hubs put up one feeder about 3 weeks ago. So far we haven't seen any. The cedar waxwings are now gone. The hundreds of them left, but a few stayed until last weekend. We do have robins, but not a lot. Quite a few cardinals are around the feeders and chase off the smaller birds. We have two kinds of feeders with different seed for larger birds and the one feeder for smaller birds/seed.

Our feeders have drawn... wasps. Plenty of them, too.

Are you using the "bee guards" --those yellow grids that keep bees out? It should deter the wasp also, I would think.
