How can it be botched if he's dead?

Will any of the news stories about this mention how long it took the two people he murdered to die?

I don't understand why this is such a big deal. An anesthesiologist who isn't paying attention can kill a patient pretty quickly. And they would never feel a thing.

where is the issue. The jerk is dead.
Oh, maybe they had to pay overtime for the prison staff.
They all should be slow and painful.

As said before, the Murdering Bast*rd is dead. Had it been botched, he would be on life support and whatever family he has left would be taking offers from lawyers. Stop trying to put these "people" down in a "humane and painless" way. Give them 3 choices: Hanging, Electrocution, or Firing Squad. And do it swiftly, one appeal and after that, 30 days max.

The problem with this kind of stuff is that it will cause the death penalty to be ruled unconstitutional as cruel and unusual punishment.
I don't want that to happen.

Drugs will always be a problem. They can never be sure they will work. Hanging has always been a problem. If the hangman doesn't know what he's doing, they man will swing on the end of the rope and choke to death after several minutes.
An old fashioned bullet in the back of the head is about as sure and quick as you can get.

Agreed. To a point. Methods of execution worked well until the bleeding hearts chimed in. The death penalty, is just that, DEATH. If you feel some pain or it takes a while, so be it. I want my dog to go to sleep peacefully, seeing me on the way to the afterlife. Some ASS*OLE that tortured and raped and then killed his victim, not so much.

Turns out, it was just an anti death penalty crusader disguised as a reporter.

The story is bogus..the noise heard coming from the killer was actually snoring.

So the humane thing to do was stop the proceedings when he didn't die right away? And leave him in a permanent vegetative state from the drugs in his system?

Believe it or not, it is known that a severed head is conscious for a minute or so until the brain runs out of oxygen. The eyes even blink.
