Christmas decorations

Postby crocmommy » Thu Dec 07, 2017 4:37 pm

Who has their decorations up by now? Who's not putting up decorations?

I've been busy trying to get my house ready to sell so I'm going to try to get something put up this weekend. Every year it's something that puts me behind. And no Christmas shopping yet either.

I put up the outside lights last Saturday ( on my birthday) my wife had the house and tree decorated a few days before. I did hang a couple ornaments on the tree and hauled the boxes in from the garage and put them back.
It's ok if you disagree with me.
I can't force you to be right.

I put up the tree a few days ago.

I hope to get the outdoor lights up this weekend.

Backyard lights up-3 sides of picket fence done
Hibiscus that serves as tree has ornaments.
Trees in front have large ornaments on them.
1 nativity set up.
A little more needs to happen.

We started last weekend. Have all the stuff out of the attic, Mama put the tree up and has it decorated. I listened to Christmas songs and directed her on the proper placement of the ornaments. She, of course, ignored me, and rightfully so. We'll finish that up this weekend.

I haven't started the outside yet, that's MY job. I will do it when it warms up, maybe April. I've got a new idea for this year. A roadkill theme. What do y'all think about a reindeer, graveyard dead, on his back with his legs in the air holding a Lone Star longneck in his front paws? Naturally I will decorate him with lights and a red bow.

That's ridiculous, and makes a mockery of the season. You should have the reindeer sipping from a cool pond. And you should also have Santa in the bushes wearing his red camouflage, holding his scoped, bolt-action Remington Model 700, taking careful aim. Periodically, there should be a "crack" and a puff of smoke from the rifle, and Prancer should fall over, activating red chaser lights. Then, Santa should emit a hearty "Ho, ho, ho!, etc..."

We had the tree and inside decorations up before Thanksgiving since we hosted Thanksgiving. A few outside decorations were put up a couple of days later.

We finally got out in the garage and found the Christmas decorations. So my children put up our smaller silver tree and decorated it with what we could find. We found some wreaths too so those are put up to. That will be enough for now. Next year we should be in a bigger house and can go hog wild.
