Texas Rangers Baseball Thread
Re: Texas Rangers Baseball Thread
I believe it is time for the Rangers to move on from both Drew Smyly and Shelby Miller. It is very painful to watch either of these guys pitch. It is time to admit that injuries ruined the careers for both of these guys. That sucks, but that's just the way it goes sometimes.

Rougie has three hits today, including two doubles.
And he stole home.

That steal was something. It wasn't even close.

Well I guess he showed me. I'm happy for him. I need to go find a video of Odor stealing home. And can't believe they almost pulled off that game yesterday.

In a game the A's led 8-0, they wound up having to use several key members of their bullpen, including 20+ pitches from their closer. Even if the Rangers didn't quite make it back, that was a success. They hurt the A's.
I've been watching the steal of home over and over. I've been trying to figure out if Odor also forced a balk by the pitcher. I think he did. When the pitcher was coming to his set position, he never completed the action. I believe the runner on first base should have been awarded second.

Never mind I found it.

Do you think it was a balk?

I have to look again. I'm not that familiar with what a balk looks like.

No; he stepped off with his left foot first.
Re: Texas Rangers Baseball Thread
Big time rally and win over the Red Sox.

I guess he probably did. I was so focused on his right foot that I never even paid attention to the left foot.

Another rally and win. Inside the park home run and manager ejections.
What more could you want?

And they are doing it without Gallo.

BOTH managers, not just ours, were ejected.
Nice inside the park home run.
Re: Texas Rangers Baseball Thread
It's going to hurt when JD starts trading these guys off.
Re: Texas Rangers Baseball Thread
It was fun to see the Rangers dispatch David Price in less than two innings, but then they proceeded to leave runners on base almost every inning after that - including leaving the bases loaded twice.
Sidebar - I was surprised that Otani was the first Japanese-born player to hit for the cycle. I would have bet money Ichiro had done it.

Yeah I wish I had seen them do that to Price too. Even I know Price is supposed to be better than that.
Re: Texas Rangers Baseball Thread
Price needs to worry more about his pitching, and less about arguing with members of the media that cover his team.
