Go back and read what I posted from a guy named Maxwell. It's in the comments to this story. Sorry, I forgot to post the link. Here it is:
https://science.news/2020-12-04-researc ... eaths.html

What he is saying again is this:
At present the US is experiencing a 1.12% increase in overall mortality rates for 2020- not good- pandemicky numbers to be sure.
However, last year, 2019, there was also a 1.12% increase. Did we miss a pandemic in 2019?

There is a .12% increase projected for this year based on info to date. But, that is the same increase as last year when there was no pandemic. So, where is the pandemic?

A .12% increase is not the same as 1.12 times the previous year. The latter is a 12% increase.

Too late to edit: neither an increase of .12% nor of 1.12% is the same as this years total being 1.12 what it was last year. If the person at that link got his figures from the CDC he misunderstood them. If he got them from somewhere else he will have to justify them.

It makes no difference where he got the figures. We're talking percentages not numbers. You can't have have a "pandemic" and a huge additional loss of life in a year and not have a greater percentage of the population die than the year before.

If you and this guy Maxwell are still not able to see that deaths being 1.12 times the long term average is not the same as an increase of 1.12% I can't help you. I just hope that Maxwell is not a pharmacist mixing up drugs with math skills like that.

Long term average? Where is that mentioned?
He's talking 1.12 times the previous year in 2019 and the same 1.12 projected for 2020. If there are extra deaths due to a pandemic in 2020, then the death toll in 2020 has to be greater than 1.12.

Deaths in 2019 were 1.006% higher than in 2018, and in 2018 they were 1.009% higher than in 2017, according to the link. Population increase probably accounts for all this. According to the CDC deaths this year are running 12% higher than in 2019. Those are the facts whether you like it or not and this is my last post on this thread.

I guess we're deadlocked on this one. It does look like total deaths may be higher this year. So, something is at play. And it might be the COVID disease. But, it may also be the result of the brutal lockdowns, ventilators (97% of them died), isolation depression, etc. that were imposed. Stress can kill you, especially if your old.
And now the long, dark night begins.
