Ok, in the future, maybe you' d like to start with.."I'm about to post something really stupid"..so we'll all know.

Your just arguing sematics. One article says "depression" another says "sinking into recession". The point is Europe's economy in general is going down the tubes. Fiat money eventually ruins any economy which is why the Swiss are getting ready to vote on returning to gold backing for their currency.

If a person believes in democracy and doesn't vote they are not pulling their share of the load. If a person doesn't believe in democracy, whether people vote is not important.

I think the point is..these words have meaning.

If one person says.."sinking into recession"..and another says they're in a Depression..at least one of them is very wrong.
If you’re “woke”..you’re a loser.

No, it's a matter of opinion. Look it up.

Depression-: a period of low general economic activity marked especially by rising levels of unemployment

Recession- a period of reduced economic activity

That's a huge difference.

"Reduced economic activity"

"Low general activity"

One still functions..but is reduced..the other has low or very little measurable activity.

It is the difference between a headache and brain cancer.

"reduced", "low"
Those are subjective terms, not objective definitions.

Are you saying you think there is no difference between a Recession and a Depression?

..and this is simply about which word the writers chose to use?

"In economics, a depression is a sustained, long-term downturn in economic activity in one or more economies. It is a more severe downturn than a recession, which is seen by some economists as inevitable part of capitalist economy."

In economics the word depression was the only one used for a downturn. After the Great Depression, the first one caused by the FED, they started using the term recession which was the same thing only not as deep as their big one.
