Nothing goes up or down forever. Except for fiat paper money which always, without exception, goes to zero. I don't recall anyone who predicted that gold would correct just short of $2,000. But, that's what it was, a correction. Markets always overshoot.
My guess is we'll see a lot of fiat currencies bite the dust starting this year. The yen, and whatever they call the money in China will be the biggest ones.

Yes, in the short term. But, the old has to be destroyed before the new can appear. Predicting what is going to happen is no problem. Just read history and you will find that it always repeats itself. Predicting when however is a crapshoot.
