I mean Korea and Germany.

The Koreas are still bitter and hostile after a terrible war fought 65 years ago.

Germany never wanted to be separate.

A hostile 3rd party divided them by an iron curtain and disallowed anyone to leave the East.

Germans couldn't WAIT to get back together.

And yes, I spent plenty of time in each side when they were separate..and plenty of time all over the unified Germany since they reconstituted.

By staying in Korea we stretched out the war for decades. It has never ended you know. There is just a truce and a ceasefire. That is how N. Korea is able to justify maintaining a police state to it's people.
In essence we're responsible for all of the suffering of the North Korean people.
I don't think the end is near anymore. :D I think it's HERE! :o

N. Korea doesn't justify anything to its people.
The people only know what they are told by the state. The state can claim anything and the population won't know any better.

Same thing in Viet Nam. A country we almost destroyed. They kicked our ass. Once we were gone they have reconciled and now have a very prosperous economy. You can go there and visit and you'll be welcomed.

If we left 1 of 2 things would happen. Either they would resume the war and it would be over in a few months. Or they would negotiate and reconcile. Either way would end the mess that we have caused those countries.

There is no mess in S. Korea.

S. Korea is an especially successful, comfortable and enjoyable place to visit or work..yes, I have been there many times, too.

Their one big problem is a lunatic, basket case and hostile neighbor to the north..which, on a day to day basis..interferes with nothing.

So, your an expert on S. Korea because you have been there many times. And you are an expert on N. Korea where you have never been. Why?

You said South Korea was a mess.

You don't have to be an expert to know that's ridiculous.

little I know about 's korea' is that they have a thriving economy , sell 'kia' cars , hyundai , cheap motorcycles also I think . South korea is a modern western style country I think , they build weapons , jets , small arms , kimchi and are an American ally . norks on the other hand are pretty crazy . South would clobber the north I think but the north has nukes that they might / probably would use . Check out the night time satellite photos of the north and compare the lighting in both koreas at night . Pretty interesting comparison !!

Bush should have dealt with N. Korea instead of blundering into Afghanistan and Iraq.
He'll go down as one of the two or three worst presidents in history- along with Obama.

What did you want him to do about North Korea?

Clinton is the one that made the big anti nuke deal..which they didn't abide by of course.

Obama is doing the same thing with Iran.

Planosteve's having fun again. Oh well, he's our troll and we accept him being so contrary. It's now expected.

I do not believe Steve comes here to play games.

I think this is all very real for him.

I guess I'm saying I think he's a lot more paranoid and crazy than he is deceptive or dishonest.

I think that Steve may be messing around , if he is serious that's also ok as his thoughts are something to agree with or argue against !!

Worst presidents:

1. JFK - High on speed every day he was in office. Sexual sociopath who constantly left himself open to blackmail from foreign powers.
The other bad ones in no order
LBJ - Crook
Carter- Weakling
G.W.Bush- Foreign policy idiot
Obama - You name it

Best presidents in my lifetime
Eisenhower
Nixon
Reagan

Lincoln has the blood of more Americans on his hands, than Hitler and Hirohito combined.

You're right.
600,000 dead in the Civil War?
420,000 in WWII.

And Lincoln is a hero?
Always remember that the American people are basically fools.
They will believe whatever they are told to believe.
