Could you point out where I called anyone a name? I didn't think so. Saying it's my opinion that there is a lot of racism in this thread is not calling anyone a name. Saying Johnnie is a big poo poo head - that's calling someone a name.

Again, you can't change history. Any veteran of a war deserves to RIP under the flag he/she served under. The other thought I have and have tried to teach my kids is "Don't touch other people's things."
I absolutely guarantee you I am not a racist. You can disparage yankees (and some on here do), but I grew up in a lovely little town in Pennsylvania that was completely integrated. It's abhorrent that because someone has a different view, they are accused of racism. I can't wait to get Kristin Powers book.

Laughable, simply laughable.

My point was that had the south won the war, or succeeded in leaving the union permanently, slavery would have stayed in place. Talk about abhorrent - that slavery would have still existed is abhorrent. Does anyone not agree with that? Golly, I certainly hope not.

The last vestige of Chattel Slavery in the Western world was Brazil and it was ended around 20 years after the War between the States, without a War; and perhaps American Indians sold into slavery in California; or child labor.

The pesky little problem of Slavery existing longer in the Union States, than the defeated Southern States is a problem for the Yankee Propagandists to cover up.

Ending Slavery was important to the Union more as a weapon to be used against the South, than any liberation of the enslaved.

The worst mistake ever committed by Europeans was the adoption of the African Slavery model.

Slavery never really ended. It just evolved into a much more sophisticated system where the slave masters are hidded and the slaves are now called tax payers.

Sue, I again reference the above sentence and also restate my opinion that he was wrong. "It is a historic confederate cemetery."
