This is all BS. What was discovered was left over from the previous era. Saddam had no active WMD prograrm which is what Bush based the war on. Not some left over, forgotten old, leaky stashes that were overlooked.

Bush was wrong. Ron Paul was right.

I'll let you answer that question.

Rumsfeld said he knew where Saddam's WMDs were and that they were in the Tekrit- Baghdad area.

On June 21, 2006 the U.S. House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released key points from a classified report from the National Ground Intelligence Center on the recovery of a small number of degraded chemical munitions in Iraq. The report stated that "Coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent." All are thought to be pre-Gulf War munitions.
These were found near the Syrian border.

I had not been aware that anything had been found. I admit that I was wrong on that point.

Well, LibraryLady, you posted this in two different places so you must feel strongly about it. Tell us more.

.
Blame it on the Frogs and the Brits.
They took three distinct tribal areas combined them and "created" the country of Iraq so their oil companies, Royal Dutch Shell, BP and Total could exploit the territory.

Sounds like a great reason to make a country.

This must be one of those "confrontational" threads Bob told us people were so tired of.

Obama is not responsible for anything ever. That is the point of all this.

Did Saddam have chemical weapons? Let's ask the Kurds. If there are any left.

The truth is America doesn't have the Stomach for the long hard path that "Nation Building" requires, so we had best stay out of it.

It makes me very angry to see all the Sacrifice flushed do the Toilet, very angry.

Obama owns this!

You have your history wrong. Bush negotiated and signed off on the American military withdrawal and it was ratified by the Iraqi parliament before Obama was inaugurated. Obama wanted to get out of the agreement and keep troops there. But, Iraq would not agree to giving them immunity so they had to be pulled out or they would be liable to be arrested and tried in Iraq courts.

I posted it here and there because so many over there don't come over here. :D
(sounds like a coded message, doesn't it?)

Anyone who has read my posts for the past 15 years know I am not a fan of GW.....liked his father, don't care for him.
I distinctly recall a discussion with my cousin during GW's first election to POTUS time period. I can't recall if it was prior to the election or after.......but I said then--GW will lead us into war in Iraq to redeem his father's honor. (At least one source agrees with that statement.) I also recall that Bush the elder, told his son not to go into Iraq as it would destabilize the region. I recall reading that the 2 Bush POTUS do not discuss the middle east because of strong disagreement.

We had no business going there. I am glad my son and step-son and nephews all returned unharmed. I am very sad for the thousands of families who can't say that.

I hope we stay out of that area in the future.

That's all I've got to say on the issue.

Our troops were in place, and no way could anything happen like what is happening now.

..and Bush had no fixed schedule to leave Iraq..I'm quite sure we would still be there, and for years to come.

Did you actually read Greenwald's article? The agreement to withdraw the troops was negotiated and signed during the Bush administration. Obama wanted to keep some there. Just the opposite of what you are arguing. Where do you get this stuff? From the Limbaugh Show?
