OK. Try this one:
"Hey Don, Barak here. I need a favor. We're getting ready to attack Syria and I'd like to keep discussion to a minimum. I think we need a distraction. Could you maybe like, run for president? You know, sort of ham it up for the press to fixate on so we can get the war going without a lot of people bitching about it? I'd appreciate it. Shouldn't take too long, we've softened them up pretty good with ISIL. Then you can get back to work earning more money."

"Thanks Buddy. I could use some exposure to sharpen up my image. And a chance to kick some butts too. Especially, Rosie O' Donnel. And I've got this great hat to wear in white and red. Count me in"

Nobody cares about Syria either way.

They don't even have any oil.

I expect the 4 million people displaced from their homes that are living in refugee camps care.
I expect the European countries that see thousands of Syrians and Libyans coming ashore in boatloads that have to be taken care of care.

Just like nobody here cares that the US, Saudia Arabia and Turkey are actually the reason that ISIS exists.

I have heard it said that the difference between a Conservative and a Liberal can be summed up as...

A Conservative says, "It hasn't happened to me...so I don't care." while a Liberal says, "That should never happen to anyone."

That would seem to be borne out by this discussion.

I'm still trying to figure out what "Conservative" means. What have they ever conserved?
