Reporter,cameraman, killed live
Re: Reporter,cameraman, killed live
The newswomen and interviewee were on Live TV; concentrating on their task at hand.

pretty weird to me , no one has ever been looking to kill me but I've practiced situational awareness all my life .
Re: Reporter,cameraman, killed live
A very good point Ralph, "situational awareness" will keep you out of trouble more than anything else.

I imagine this will make more than one TV station rethink the live standup.

Since copycats are so common today this really does need to be taken seriously. I suspect we will see a shift to 3 person teams with the third being armed security. No point in a watcher that can just watch helplessly if they see something.
Damn shame...and I still haven't gotten over that first SOB that hijacked an airplane. The World just changes too fast for me.

I heard an interview, this a.m., with a former colleague who is working elsewhere. I believe I heard her say that they have suspended her on site reporting for the time being.
Working to love my fellow person regardless : >

So will reporters who support gun control refuse to go out on stories with armed security?

+1 It would look pretty strange if reporters were constantly look up and around at every person who walked towards them.

I doubt it seriously. in fact, I fail to see the relevance of the comment. They need the armed security BECAUSE of lax gun control laws (actually, it is far more complex than that, but let's just ay that is true). I don't see the conflict.
Perhaps you could explain where you see a conflict? I think that might be interesting.
You know, supporting gun control is not the equivalent of being a pacifist. It is waste of time at this point but still can be a reasonable position. After all, the problem isn't guns but the abundant availability of the things in our society. I think the war over guns and gun control has been over for a LONG time...society LOST. Wish you guys had cared as much about the Fourth Amendment as you seem to about the Second Amendment. Oh well...

This story is getting very old, very quickly.
Re: Reporter,cameraman, killed live
Just a hypothetical question. Let's see how it plays out.

Another Black on White assaination in Houston, Deputy in uniform shot in the back while filling up his patrol car and finished off on the ground. The coddling of Black Lives Matter movement contributed to the murder, IMO.
