Do you also drive around barricades put up for flooded roads? How about RR crossing gates? I am an OTR truck driver, & must say I am glad I'm on medical leave this month, even if it is unpaid.

A sensible person would stay home, however guberment edicts annoy me. If you go out and get in a bind you should be on your own.

So you would go out in that weather, despite the fact there is no place to go, nothing open, just because someone tells you NO? Would you stay despite a mandatory evacuation order too? You would not only be risking your own life, but also of those who have to come out & rescue you.

In that case, if people are acting like fools, I don't think emergency personnel should have to go. But they will because that's what they do. In NC they had black ice under the snow. I believe the death toll is 11 there. I believe they also had it in DC. I think you're very foolish to act like that. And some poor firemen and paramedics WILL be in danger going out to rescue you. No thought of the other people you endanger? I think a lot less of you now Ralph.

------------------------------------------------ except for death and taxes , mandatory is a rather new development in American life maybe 50 years old Grandpa . I say that because my memory says the first I ever saw of Mandatory was helmet laws about 50 years ago but mandatory is gaining steam in the USA . As far as nothing open is only because the bosses , police ordered them to close , otherwise the businesses , bars restaurants would be open and people would be having blizzard parties .

Have to agree. He's the kind of guy who would jump over barricades at a Mardi Gras parade, get run over and then sue everyone for his own hard headedness.

But... when you were sitting on top of your flooded house facing imminent death, I'd imagine you would get in the boat the same government that asked you to leave would send to you, yes? Pfft!
