The dormer will be too high for triggering the camera.
We have put it on a fence post and on a tree.

As mentioned, you need to disguise it or I think someone will steal it.

Yes, you have to remove the card to see what photos you have.
Much more expensive ones will broadcast to a computer--but then you have wiring etc.

I would think there is something out there that will connect to your wireless network and allow you to record everything on your computer hard drive.
