Mark, I miss Fitzpatrick's BBQ in Greenville. His whole family worked in the restaurant. I could take a brisket in to him and he'd cook it for us. So, we were driving down Stonewall St. and I gasped! It had burned down overnight. I'm saying "Oh no. Poor Mr. Fitzpatrick! That's terrible." Steve said "Yeah, it is. Our brisket was in there." I'd forgotten about that. But Mr. Fitzpatrick replaced it for us. We were kind of shocked when he called and told me to come and get a brisket. I often wonder what his kids are doing now. They all did go to college. I loved that family.

In Rockwall, there is a place that's kind of secret. It's in a man's garage. I've never been since I don't know where it is, but so many friends have said it's the best they've ever had. They sell out by noon. It's all word of mouth and it gets around fast, when they're open. No regular hours or days...it's when he and his buddies decide they want to do it.
