Why did the couple include verbiage in their tweets that identified them as a same sex couple? What did that have to do with anything?

Pretty simple it seems. If Ivanka or her husband reacted to him in any way, they would have claimed that the Trumps hate gays.

Why not? The harasser brought it up. He felt it was important enough to mention. Even though the article doesn't expressly mention it, I have no doubt Trump's supposed homophobia has something to do with the reamed-out asshole's outbursts. People pretty much left the Obama kids alone, there's no reason to treat Trump's kids any different, even if they are adults.

Actually, the fact that it's a same-sex couple illustrates what is really going on. Trump and Trumpies aren't harassing gays, they are harassing the Trumpies. And Muslims are hoaxing hate crimes.
