Tax collection problems ( billions are owed and not collected) and tax evasion has been an issue in Greece for decades, as has been a Gov that is more than happy borrowing and spending in an attempt to make the people happy.

For the world..specifically for us..it doesn't much matter.

Greece is 2% of the EU's economy..and less than 1% of the WORLD'S economy.

It matters hugely for Greece.

If they don't vote to cut their freebies, things will get extremely desperate in Greece.

If they vote yes..things will be bad as well..but less bad, and they could start working towards some type of normalcy.

If I was European..especially if I was German..I would be hoping they vote no..leave the Euro, and just go away and die..so to speak.

course if this vote is the Greeks voting for 'NO' , then 'Who can argue against it ?? Course the Smarter people , well people that consider themselves to be smarter can argue . Seems to me that if Greece votes NO then they are free to ally with others other than the Western 'europeons' like Russia , China . I predict the "yes" side will win by a much larger margin than polls have ever indicated. Being bankrupt with the prospect of EU assistance and being bankrupt and without prospects is a pretty clear-cut choice.
